FROM GUT FEEL TO DATA-DRIVEN
BOOKING.
MERIT replaces hours of texting, spreadsheets, and guesswork with a streamlined dashboard that books, rates, and pays — automatically.
The Booking Workflow
Booking a Full Show Goes from Hours of Texting to Minutes in a Dashboard.
Every action is logged. Every offer, rating, and payment has an audit trail.

Show Setup
Date, time, room, budget. Pulls the club’s default pay rates and stage times automatically.

Sort & Select
Filter comics by grade, availability, travel distance, demographics. Drag-and-drop sort. Multi-level unlimited sort — build a priority stack and the system sorts by each level in sequence.

Send Offers
System fires SMS offers via Twilio. Comics reply YES/NO. Non-responders get a nudge.

Confirm Lineup
Pick from YES responses. Confirmation + promo text + 4-hour reminder sent automatically.

Rate the Show
Showrunner rates each set: Up, Down, On Par, Skip, No Show. Paper backup available. Stripe payment post-show. Rates configurable by grade, day of week, show type per club.
The Rating System
Transparent, Multi-Source, Grade-Based.
Comics NEVER see their grade — they infer it from offer quality and stage time. There are underlying points for each grade that can be adjusted over time.
- Comics start at 50 points — unrated
- Showrunner rates every set: Up / Down / On Par / Skip
- Ratings in the Wild (RITW): trained and trusted raters attend any show, anywhere
- Peer ratings: A-tier+ comics cast monthly votes on comics below them
- Video reviews carry 2× weight
- Points decay monthly if a comic goes inactive
- S/J/X-Tier: status locked by God Mode; points still move for annual reviews
The Rating Engine
Four Independent Input Streams.
No single person controls a comic’s grade. All raters receive training.

Showrunner Rating
Assigned to a specific show. Rates every comic on the lineup in real time using 5 buttons: Up, Down, On Par, Skip, No Show. One rater per show. Carries 1× weight.

Ratings in the Wild
God Mode-assigned RITW raters can rate ANY comic at ANY venue — a bar show, another club, a pop-up. They search the full comic database and log ratings. Carries 1× weight.

Video Review
Comics submit a performance video and pay a small fee. Two trained reviewers watch independently using the same rating guide. 2× vote weight.

Peer Votes
A-tier and above get 3 monthly votes to cast on comics at lower grades. No peer downvotes — only positive recognition from comics who’ve earned the right to evaluate others.
All four streams feed the same point algorithm. The grade is the aggregate — not one person’s call.
